SYSTEMS OR SOFTWARE ENGINEER

Quantason has developed a dual-mode ultrasound platform technology for a range of medical applications.

Scope:
Member of a start-up team developing an ultrasonic medical technology in the women's healthcare field.

Responsibilities:
  1. Key responsibility will include support the design, development, and integration of the technology into a strategic partner’s clinical platform.
  2. Familiarity with embedded signal processing applications and ultrasound systems architecture will benefit the product development and integration activities.
  3. Other responsibilities will include R&D support including algorithm development, modeling, data collection, and analysis. Laboratory research is conducted in a LabView data acquisition and control environment with algorithm development proceeding in parallel using Matlab & Python.

Requirements:
A background in engineering or physics with experience in acoustics, ultrasonics, and/or medical device development is desirable. As a member of a small team, the candidate will have the opportunity to be part of all facets of the development process including planning, algorithm design, integration strategy, software and firmware implementation, and the ultimate deployment of the solution.

  • Systems integration;
  • Algorithm development;
  • Coding/testing of algorithms and simulations using Matlab, LabView, Python;
  • Participate in the transfer of our prototype to an embedded clinical platform;
  • Signal and image processing experience;
  • Minimum 3 years experience in product development/project management;
  • Familiarity with medical ultrasound technologies, acoustics, or RF field theory;
  • Background in ultrasound/medical product development highly desired;
  • Python or C++ proficiency;
  • LabView proficiency;
  • Matlab/Simulink proficiency;
  • Clinical laboratory experience;
  • Demonstrated project management expertise;
  • Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a closely related field.
